Compass Virtual’s Mental Health & Substance Use Partial Hospitalization (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient (IOP) Programs for individuals ages 18+ support those struggling with concurrent mental health symptoms and substance use. The evidence-based curriculum uses cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and motivational interviewing (MI) to help individuals achieve their unique treatment goals. Compass uses a variety of treatment approaches including harm reduction, abstinence, and medication-assisted treatments (Suboxone, Vivitrol, Naltrexone) based on an individual’s treatment needs and concurrent mental health symptoms. Our goal is to help individuals understand the relationship between their mental health and substance use.
Individuals in this program participate in regular meetings with a psychiatrist or psychiatric nurse practitioner 1-3x weekly as appropriate, as well as weekly sessions with a master’s level clinician and/or Certified Alcohol and other Drug Counselor (CADC). Weekly family therapy sessions with a parent, spouse, or identified support person are strongly encouraged. Urine drug screen monitoring is a required part of this program based on treatment team recommendations.
Compass’s Virtual MHSU Program is offered during both daytime and evening PHP and IOP hours.
Compass’s multi-disciplinary team develops an individualized treatment plan for each patient that includes:
Compass’s customized treatment plans are tailored to the needs of each individual and adapted over the course of treatment. Program participants work with therapists who specialize in substance use, as well as mood and anxiety. This individualized approach to treatment supports people in moving towards achieving a meaningful and functional life.
Nearly all individuals who try a PHP or IOP find it to be better than their expectations and find the level of engagement to be impactful.
