Compass Health Center offers Mental Health & Substance Use Programs for ages 13-18 to support teens struggling with anxiety and/or depressive symptoms, alongside substance use that is negatively impacting their functioning. Our evidence-based curriculum uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help individuals achieve their treatment goals. Compass uses a variety of treatment approaches ranging from harm reduction to abstinence based on an individual’s treatment needs and concurrent mental health symptoms. Our goal is to help individuals understand the relationship between their mental health and substance use.
Adolescents in this program will participate in regular meetings with a psychiatrist or psychiatric nurse practitioner 1-3x weekly as appropriate and weekly sessions with a master’s level clinician and/or Certified Alcohol Drug Counselor (CADC). Weekly family therapy sessions are required. Urine drug screen monitoring is required based on treatment team recommendations.
Compass’s Oak Brook location offers a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), and Compass’s Chicago location offers an After-School Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). Over the summer, Chicago will offer this program during the day.
