Program Overview- Compass Health Center

Program Overview

Compass Virtual’s Mental Health & Substance Use Partial Hospitalization (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient (IOP) Programs for individuals 18+ support those struggling with mental health symptoms and substance use. The evidence-based curriculum uses cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and motivational interviewing (MI) to help individuals achieve their treatment goals. Compass uses a variety of treatment approaches, ranging from harm reduction to abstinence, to medication-assisted treatments (Suboxone, Vivitrol, Naltrexone) based on an individual’s treatment needs and concurrent mental health symptoms. Our goal is to help individuals understand the relationship between their mental health and substance use.

Individuals in this program participate in regular meetings with a psychiatrist or psychiatric nurse practitioner 1-3x weekly, as appropriate and weekly sessions with a master’s level clinician and/or Certified Alcohol and other Drug Counselor (CADC). Weekly family therapy sessions with a parent, spouse, or identified support person are strongly encouraged. Urine drug screen monitoring is a required part of this program as the treatment team recommends.

Compass’s Virtual MHSU Program is offered during both daytime and evening PHP and IOP hours.
