Compass Health Center and Compass Virtual offer Partial Hospitalization (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient (IOP) Programs. These are group-based therapeutic programs which are treatment options for individuals who are struggling with debilitating symptoms of Depression, Anxiety, OCD, Trauma, PTSD, and/or Bipolar Disorder that interfere with daily functioning.
Generally, a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) is a structured, intensive mental health care program for those with severe mental health or substance use disorders. PHP mental health providers offer a range of services, such as individual therapy, skill development, and medication management, all in one location.
Compass's PHP mental health and IOP programs offer people comprehensive psychiatric and behavioral health treatment while maintaining life at home.
Compass Health Center is committed to responding to the community's need for evidence-based, comprehensive non-hospital-based psychiatric care.
After an initial consultation, Compass's multidisciplinary treatment team customizes the PHP mental health or IOP program for each patient in collaboration with the patient's support network, including their family and outpatient team. Both programs are centered around interactive, group-based therapy, psychiatric, and individual care.
Compass patients are provided with continuous support by giving them easy access and frequent treatment sessions with their psychiatrist and a tailored team of specialists. Compass Health Center's standard of care stands out from other comprehensive mental health treatment facilities.
The Partial Hospitalization (PHP) Program is more comprehensive than its IOP counterpart. It is a full-time mental health treatment program that runs six hours each day. Every day, patients under PHP attend a combination of group and individual care led by licensed therapists.
Compass Health Center’s PHP implements a variety of evidence-based therapies, including psychiatry, individual therapy, group therapy, family therapy, experiential therapy, and additional specialized services, if needed. The length of PHP treatment depends on a patient’s progress. Often, the goal is to step down to IOP, which is considered a lower level of behavioral health care.
PHP offers a safe and structured environment while giving patients the ability to return home each evening after a full day of treatment. It benefits those individuals who are looking for more support than can be offered in an outpatient setting. PHP also benefits those not ready to step down to traditional outpatient therapy after inpatient hospitalization or residential treatment.
Our intensive outpatient Program is a short-term treatment model consisting of half-day treatment for three hours a day and typically starts at five days per week. Patients are able to address their mental health while continuing to work, go to school, and handle daily responsibilities at home. Compass provides both daytime and evening options.
Compass Health Center's IOP care serves a wide range of mental health conditions, including Mood & Anxiety Disorders, OCD & Complex Anxiety Disorders, Chronic Pain & Illness, and Trauma, among others.
IOP services are typically the next step down after PHP or inpatient care for those with pre-existing mental health disorders. IOP programs can also be used as an initial treatment or preventive measure for individuals struggling with their mental health but who are not candidates for PHP or residential-level care.
Our IOP services are an effective relapse-prevention strategy. This program helps patients learn how to manage their mental health challenges while balancing work, relationships, and other aspects of everyday life. Patients in IOP develop positive coping strategies, improve their confidence and self-esteem, and learn techniques to manage their emotions.
