Project Description

Program Overview

Young Adult Dual Diagnosis Virtual Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for ages 18+ – Compass Health Center is proud to offer an Adult Dual Diagnosis Virtual Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) designed to support those struggling to manage their mental health and maintain sobriety. Through evidence-based modalities and medication-assisted treatment, this virtual outpatient program focuses on helping individuals maintain sobriety while also managing depression and anxiety symptoms. Group and individual therapy modalities include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Motivational Interviewing. Individuals participate in regular sessions with an addiction psychiatrist and are encouraged to participate in weekly family therapy sessions. Patients in this program are required to have urine drug screen monitoring in addition to weekly meetings with a Certified Alcohol and other Drug Counselor (CADC). Program Hours are Monday – Friday 1pm – 4pm.

Substance Use Track – Currently this track is available for patients admitted to the Mood/Anxiety PHP or IOP. Patients on this track participate in substance-focused process and skills groups 1-2x weekly and may receive on-site urine drug screening. Patients on this track can receive additional support from a Certified Alcohol and other Drug Counselor (CADC) while they reduce or eliminate substance use.

Treatment Goals

This track provides multi-faceted treatment for patients in the Compass Young Adult PHP and IOP programs that also struggle with substance use issues. Patients on this track receive support from a Certified Alcohol and other Drug Counselor (CADC) while they reduce or eliminate substance use via leading evidence-based approaches, customized treatment and combined intervention techniques. In addition to the individual counseling with his or her substance therapist, patients on this track participate in substance-focused process and skills groups and may receive on-site urine drug screening. While we encourage community support organizations such as Alcoholics Anonymous (AA), SMART Recovery, and Refuge Recovery, Compass is not affiliated with any of these organizations and is not a 12-step based program.

Families are encourage but not required to participate in family therapy, as it greatly facilitates the patient’s improvement.
