Project Description

Program Overview

The Substance Use Disorder Track focuses on compassionate, evidence-based treatment for co-occurring substance use and psychiatric disorders. Understanding that addiction treatment is not a one size fits all model, the clinical team will utilize the most effective approach to successfully treat each individual patient. Currently this track is available for patients admitted to PHP or IOP.

Treatment Goals

This track provides multi-faceted treatment for patients in the Compass Young Adult PHP and IOP programs that also struggle with substance use issues. Patients on this track receive support from a Certified Alcohol and other Drug Counselor (CADC) while they reduce or eliminate substance use via leading evidence-based approaches, customized treatment and combined intervention techniques. In addition to the individual counseling with his or her substance therapist, patients on this track participate in substance-focused process and skills groups and may receive on-site urine drug screening. While we encourage community support organizations such as Alcoholics Anonymous (AA), SMART Recovery, and Refuge Recovery, Compass is not affiliated with any of these organizations and is not a 12-step based program.

Families are encourage but not required to participate in family therapy, as it greatly facilitates the patient’s improvement.
