Begin your experience at Compass with our New Family Orientation Group. This introductory session will equip you with essential knowledge about our approach to care, setting the stage for what to expect. You will receive information about this via email from your Child's treatment team at the start of their treatment.
Several parent groups are offered weekly virtually via Teams; a link will be sent to you on Mondays, along with the skills planned for that week and any other pertinent information to prepare.
Once a week, depending on location, we invite parents to attend an onsite parent skill group. These sessions are crafted to help you tackle the unique challenges and rewards of raising a child in therapy. It’s an ideal setting for learning and connecting with peers who share similar experiences
Family therapy is integral to our treatment approach. We see the most gains for children and adolescents in program when we partner consistently with parents or guardians, which is the reason why we require it as part of treatment. Family therapy can be via Teams or in person, and your child’s family therapist will work with you during the first few days of program to find a time that works scheduling-wise. Getting started in care, we do recommend starting with just parent(s)/caregiver(s) and child.
