Compass Health Center Launches Enhanced OCD Treatment Program with Daily ERP for Children, Teens, Young Adults, and Adults

Compass Health Center now offers daily ERP in a newly enhanced OCD and anxiety treatment program for children, teens, young adults, and adults—available in-person and virtually, with immediate access.

CHICAGO, IL—June 25, 2025—Compass Health Center has launched a reimagined OCD treatment program across its in-person and virtual Partial Hospitalization (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient (IOP) levels of care. Designed for children, teens, young adults, and adults, the program provides specialized, evidence-based OCD and anxiety treatment for those whose lives are disrupted by obsessive thoughts, compulsions, and an inability to tolerate uncertainty. It meets the needs of individuals who have not benefited from traditional talk therapy or who have gone misdiagnosed for years.

Unlike generalized approaches, Compass’s OCD and Anxiety Programs are tailored to the specific cognitive and behavioral patterns that define Obsessive Compulsive Disorder: looping intrusive thoughts, compulsive behaviors, distress with uncertainty, and doubt that challenges one’s core values. At the center of our evidence-based OCD care is Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), the gold-standard therapy for OCD, offered daily in a structured, multi-disciplinary, supportive care environment.

“OCD often goes misunderstood, and not just by the public, but sometimes even in treatment,” said Chad Wetterneck, Ph.D., SVP of Clinical Development & Excellence at Compass Health Center. “People living with OCD experience distressing, intrusive thoughts and feel compelled to act in ways that temporarily relieve anxiety but reinforce the cycle. Exposure and Response Prevention disrupts that cycle. With the right, specialized support, patients can learn to tolerate uncertainty and move toward a life that isn’t dictated by their symptoms.”

The enhanced OCD treatment program integrates ERP with ACT, DBT, and CBT-informed group therapy to help patients build coping skills, tolerate discomfort, and manage day-to-day triggers. Each patient receives an individualized care plan, along with access to individual and family therapy, psychiatry, and support for co-occurring conditions such as trauma, depression, and mental health and substance use.

“We want patients to know they’re not alone and that OCD doesn’t have to dictate how they live,” said Katie Torres, MSW, LCSW, Director of the Center of Excellence at Compass Health Center. “This program reflects our commitment to delivering specialized, evidence-based care that helps patients reduce symptoms, build resilience, and re-engage with the parts of life that matter most.”

Individuals in our OCD & Anxiety Programs make measurable progress:

  • Anxiety and depression symptoms drop significantly
  • Obsessions and compulsions reduce
  • Daily functioning improves at home, school, or work
  • Patients gain confidence in managing uncertainty
  • Avoidance behaviors decrease
  • Families learn how to stop the cycle of accommodation
