Compass Health Center Expands Child Specialty Care as Demand for Pediatric Mental Health Services Grows in Wisconsin
BROOKFIELD, WI — April 30, 2026 — Responding to growing community need for more accessible, psychiatrist-led pediatric mental health care, Compass Health Center has expanded its Wisconsin services with new Child Specialty Partial Hospitalization (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient (IOP) Programs for children ages 9-11.
These programs are designed for children whose symptoms are impacting daily functioning, who are no longer responding to weekly outpatient therapy, or who need structured step-down support following hospitalization.
New Child Specialty Programs for Ages 9–11
Now available in person in Brookfield, Compass offers age-based, symptom-specific care for children experiencing:
- School anxiety and refusal
- Mood and anxiety disorders
- Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
Each program provides structured, developmentally appropriate treatment with psychiatric oversight, therapy, and active family involvement.
“We’re hearing from families and clinicians who need a better middle option for children with complex mental health needs,” said Samantha Klinger, LCSW, CSAC, Executive Director, Compass Health Center – Brookfield. “This expansion creates access to timely, psychiatrist-led care that supports children earlier and helps prevent symptoms from escalating.”
What Families Can Expect
Compass’s Child Specialty Programs include:
- Assessments within 24 hours
- Psychiatric care and medication management
- Individual, group, and family therapy
- Age-appropriate, diagnosis-specific treatment
- Education support and coordination of care with schools
These programs provide a supportive, structured option for children who need more than weekly therapy but do not require hospitalization. With this expansion, Compass Health Center continues to meet families in the middle—offering the right level of care, at the right time.
