The lived experience of LGBTQIA+ individuals brings unique struggles that impact both mental health and accessing mental health care. The LGBTQIA+ experience is part of the normal spectrum of expression of human sexuality and gender. However, discrimination and historical mistrust with medical systems have resulted in real barriers to accessing care. Compass Health Center remains strongly committed to serving patients who identify as LGBTQIA+ and advocating for them in our communities.
Treatment programs at Compass Health Center are designed to provide a safe, affirming, and compassionate space where individuals can heal, grow, and thrive. We understand the unique challenges faced by LGBTQIA+ individuals, including navigating identity, experiencing discrimination, managing complex family dynamics, and addressing mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, and trauma. One of Compass’ core values is cultural humility and it is a lens through which our clinicians deliver our evidence-based therapies tailored to each person's needs. Through individual counseling, group support, family therapy and holistic wellness approaches, we empower participants to build resilience, strengthen self-acceptance, and foster meaningful connections. Here, every person, including those who are transgender, non-binary, and genderqueer, is seen, valued, and supported on their journey to mental wellness.
