Project Description

Program Overview

The Evening Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) provides short-term stabilization for young adults struggling with mood and anxiety disorders who are having difficulty managing their symptoms in traditional outpatient treatment.

This program is designed for young adults and adults who are unable to participate in daytime treatment programming as a result of work-related responsibilities and other daytime commitments. Based on need, individuals may either begin treatment in the evening program or transition from daytime programming to the Evening IOP  based on treatment recommendations.

Treatment Goals

Treatment plans are individualized and developed for each patient by Compass’ multidisciplinary team. Evidence-based therapies used to help patients develop more effective coping skills include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

Group therapy is the primary modality of treatment so as to provide patients with opportunities to normalize their experience, gain feedback from peers, and practice effective coping skills together.

Families are encouraged but not required to participate in family therapy as it greatly facilitates the patient’s improvement.
